  • To accommodate aesthetic requirements, a custom structural glass system was designed.
  • Extremely tight project schedule was required so that facility would be ready for the start of racing season.

  • Electrochromic vision glass was used throughout. C3 provided turnkey installation service.
  • Maximum solar light in the winter & variable shading in the summer have allowed for maximum comfort has allowed for significant cost savings.
  • Electric demands for 2000 square feet of glass is the less than a 60-Watt light bulb.
  • Increased visibility from this installation has enhanced employee responsiveness.

  • Utilized a purpose-engineered structural glass system engineered by C3 SGS.
  • Project was compressed into a four month schedule from award to completion.

Overclad of a Single Glazed Window System with Custom Curtain Wall

  • Fully custom curtain wall installed over existing window system.
  • Converted tower from single glazed, face sealed system to double glazed curtain wall.
  • Original glass was removed after the new system was fully installed so that the building interior was never exposed to the elements.
Oxford Tower

Curtain Wall Retrofit & Reglazing of Occupied Tower

  • Architectural rendering provided client with options for façade upgrades for no extra cost.
  • 2400 new insulated glazing units and 2492 spandrel panels were installed.
  • Building remained fully occupied and functional throughout the project, with minimal disruption to tenants.
  • Project was situated in a busy section of downtown Edmonton.
City Center Place

Curtain Wall Retrofit & Reglazing of Occupied Tower

  • Architectural rendering enabled client to proceed with façade upgrade for minimal extra cost.
  • 1800 new insulated glazing units were installed and over 1800 spandrel panels reworked.
  • Building remained fully occupied and functional throughout the project, with minimal disruption to tenants.
  • Project was situated in a busy section of downtown Edmonton.
Madison Center

Curtain Wall Panel Investigation & Repairs

  • Loose metal panels were observed that were at risk of becoming dislodged from the building.
  • Load testing was conducted to determine the root cause of the problem.
  • Wind tunnel testing was completed to ensure that adequate wind loads were used in the final design.
  • C3 developed a repair strategy that reused the existing panels, resulting in sinificant cost savings.
Toronto City Hall

Design & Installation of a Retrofit Glazing System

  • The scope includes the design and installation of a retrofit framing system and 780 new insulated glazing units at Toronto City Hall.
  • Wind tunnel testing was used to refine the structural design criteria.
  • Eight full-scale mockups were installed on Toronto City Hall.
  • All removals are to be completed while the building remains fully occupied and functional.
